As we move forward in communally preparing this nourishment we are calling the Starseed Forest Nursery, it is important that we communicate about the ingredients so that we can gather them and begin simmering. Though Tiffany will be inviting us together many times before -- including this coming Tuesday morning for painting and story-- our feasting begins the week of the Autumnal Equinox, Tuesday September 18th.
This date marks when we begin the teacher/assistant-lead Tuesday/Thursday morning rhythm. This can be rolling a beginning, with parents welcomed as long as is necessary for their child's comfort. Perhaps parents will always decide to stay on the mountain to do their own work or to connect with the land through hiking, gardening, etc. Tiffany will work with each family, listening to their needs and creating with them what will be the best transition for them into this rhythm.
So, for one ingredient we have this start date. For another, we know that we will have two teachers -- Tiffany and an assistant (Tiffany will announce the assistant). We know many of the program details (as I posted previously) and will be working to refine them further together with you. We also know that we have six available spaces for children in addition to Tiffany's two children.
What we still need to know is who is interested in having their children take part in this nursery and what they can contribute in terms of financial and other resources. If you are feeling called towards having your child be in the forest nursery, please contact Tiffany. We will probably also send out an email to be forwarded to friends who may be interested in the program as well as possibly posting on a few list-serves if it looks like we still have openings in a few weeks.
Once we know who our core families are, we will join together to figure out our budget based on what the families wish to give and what the program's basic needs are. If we come up short, we'll get creative and make sure that everyone's needs are met. We trust that this is possible and look forward to this chance to operate from a place of abundance and trust rather than scarcity and fear. Of course it will be a learning process and we'll be figuring it out as we go, but we are blessed to have some wonderful models to follow and some magical energies on this land guiding us.
Your thoughts and questions are greatly appreciated. I hope to start more specific conversations here soon and if you feel so moved, please start some of your own. I'll also be posting about the family program once we have more of the nursery ingredients gathered.
With love.
