The other Starseed program that will be happening at Sacred Mountain on Tuesday and Thursday mornings is the Family program which will begin at 9:30am (allowing for the nursery program to get settled in before new energy arrives on the land) and be for parents and their children (birth thru 3 years old?). Families may sign up for one morning or two. They may also participate in as little or as much of the day as is best for their family.
From 9:30 - 11 (in a yome like the photo above, but with the sides unrolled as necessary) a teacher will lead parents and their children in circle time, song, yoga, meditation, and a hot snack.
From 11-12, parents have the option to go home or to fold their children into the nursery care so that they can participate in either the Tea-chings or take time for themselves on the land.
Tea-chings will be a time for parents to gather over tea and learn from a presenter (either a parent who has signed up for this or a guest teacher brought in) on subjects that they decided they have a collective interest in (anything from toy-making to Waldorf rhythms, to book study, to menu-planning, to meditation).
At Noon, the Starseed community (nursery and family) will have lunch either collectively or picnicing alone as is best for each family.
12:45 -- Parents and children gather for a story or puppet show before a closing circle.

I'm not sure we have a name for this program yet, though yesterday it felt like Starseed Family Circle may be it. I'd love to have discussion around this. Here are a few ideas:
Starseed Family Circle? Starseed Family Enrichment? Starseed Family Nourishment? Starseed Family Gathering? Starseed Family Morning?

I am also curious how we should ask families to sign up for these classes. Monthly? Six week sessions? On-going class card? Individual classes? And then how do they sign up for each segment of the day (Full day with nursery care?, Full day with no nursery care, Just circle time, Just Tea-ching... etc.)

ReplyDeleteFor the Starseed Morning we'll have an online sign up that updates periodically. We can link paypal to this as well. We'll know the day before who will be arriving and who will be teaching, etc. It would be great to have the Tea-chings subject stay the same per week. A start and Finish experience. Maybe even a two week block. We'll see! I'd like to meet and go over this soon.
ReplyDeleteWe can have a contribution scale for additional involvement, including nursery time while guardian engages in Tea-ching and/or Lunch. All are welcome for the departing Story. I would love to see the Nursery Program have a few committed little ones, but I'm open for what is needed and wanted.
This was another post on this subject from Tiffy -- archiving it here so we have it!
ReplyDeleteOur next environment is The Family enrichment program which will take place on Tuesday and Thursday Mornings. This program is open as a parent/child space along with prenatal mammas/ mammas and papas in solo while child is engaged in Nursery. Family enrichment begins at 9:30am to the sound of a Gong. At 9:30 parents/children will gather in a zen like atmosphere of simplicity and Yoga mats. We will gather for circle to bring us all together with song. Our mats will then be calling to us to stretch thru a guided yoga practice by a certified instructor. After an hour of stretching and a bit of quite meditation time, you are invited for tea and a teaching. The tea-chings will be given by parents, friends and/or teachers who wish to share a gift or talent. We’re here to share and learn from each other and that’s what this space was created for. With 7 spaces available per class we will have an online system where you may chime into who’s teaching and space availability. We will have a sliding scale according to what you’re capable to contribute. We hope you find our passion for enrichment enjoyable and look forward to hearing about your experience. For more information please leave a comment.
Much Love and happy Journey!
